Who We Are:

The Daughters of the King is a lay religious Order including women in the Anglican, Episcopal, Lutheran (ELCA) and Roman Catholic churches.  Each Daughter has taken a lifetime vow to enter into a spiritual discipline of daily prayer, service, and evangelism.  The emblem of the Order is the silver Greek cross which Daughters wear at all times as an outward and visible sign that we cannot live a day without Christ in our lives.  The cross is inscribed with the words “Magnanimiter Crucem Sustine,” a Latin phrase meaning “With heart, mind and spirit, uphold and bear the cross.”  Also inscribed are the letters FHS, representing the motto of the Order, “For His Sake.”

Daughters of the King was organized in 1885.  Our chapter has 34 members. The only requirement for membership is that a woman be a communicant in good standing and serve a three-month training period.

The Alice Driver Chapter of the Daughters of the King meets every Wednesday at 11:30 am and every fourth Sunday at 9:00am in St. Julian Hall.

The Motto of the Order:

 For His Sake...
I am but one, but I am one.
I cannot do everything, but I can do something.
What I can do, I ought to do.
What I ought to do, by the grace of God I will do.
Lord, what will you have me do?

 Prayer Requests:

Prayer requests may be submitted online below.  As all prayer requests are confidential, only members of the Alice Driver Chapter can read them.  In addition, prayer requests may be submitted on Sundays via the prayer request cards available in the pews.

 Where has your Cross Been?

The Order of the Daughters of the King has celebrated over 125 years of prayer, service, and evangelism.  We are represented in 15 countries worldwide and over 25,000 women and girls are members!  Our crosses have been everywhere with us, and we would love to hear some of the places your cross has traveled!  Please email us below and let us know where in the world your cross has been!  We will soon be able to dedicate a special section of this page to sharing these stories.
