Music

The Music
It has been said that music has extraordinary power that can help us through the most difficult times of life. And at Grace-Calvary it is our endeavor to carry our sacred times before God through the careful use of music. You will find traditional hymns, simple songs and at times instrumental pieces presented in the services. In our fast paced world there are many voices demanding our attention at all times. We seek to find an alternative - a sacred space that is peaceful and accessible through our music.

Choir
At present we have an adult choir at the 11:15 a.m. Sunday worship service. Choir practice is held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In addition to our organist, we are fortunate to have instrumentalists in our parish who enhance worship. While we use a variety of music styles in our worship, the 1982 Hymnal and traditional Anglican music are the mainstay of our music ministry. If you have an interest in any area of sacred music, please join us!

The Erben Organ
Grace-Calvary is home to the oldest working pipe organ in the State of Georgia. The "Erben Organ"--as it is known--is the work of Henry Erben (1800-1884) of the Erben Organ Factory which was located in the State of New York. The organ dates from 1848 and has been virtually in constant use singing the praises of the Lord. It is one of the treasures of our church.
