MINUTES OF THE OUTREACH COMMITTEE

Regular meeting held on October 6, 2008

6:00 P.M.

In attendance: Rev. Dena Bearl, Harriet Beech, John Cantwell, Linda Hill Jordan, Lynda Ann Loring, Pam Rand, Sue and Ray Rowell.

Opening prayer by Ray.

Minutes of last meeting approved as distributed.

2008 Financials:

No additional Line Items expenditures to date.

Grants mailed to Christian Appalachian Project in the amount of $500.00, Habersham Life $200.00, Special Radios for the Blind – ($210.00 was approved by the committee, but church record indicates $300.00 expenditure. Will explore with Treasurer).

Grants fund currently has $1,122.00.

A grant in the amount of $500.00 was approved for Sudan Sunrise Education Mission.

2009 Financials proposed:

Two new Line Items will be added, Grace Gate and Habersham Life, and contributions to ERD will be directed to Sudan Sunrise Education Mission.

After discussion, it was determined that Outreach should not be timid in the budget request, but rather, move toward the original goal prior to 2003. A Line Item chart will be distributed to the committee for suggested amounts.

It was suggested by Rev. Dena that the proposed budget include funds for mission trips.

A request for an additional $4,000.00 over 2008 has been requested, which would bring the 2009 Outreach budget to $24,000.00. This will not include funds for grants.

There was no additional business.
