Lay Pastoral Care

Purpose:   To care for the needs within the parish by providing prayer and companionship, meals, cards, phone calls, and transportation to those who are sick or in bereavement        

 The Lay Pastoral Care team, composed of 20 members of our parish, assists the Rector in caring for the needs within the parish. Teams are organized to provide care in a variety of ways. Some of these are: providing meals to those recovering from illness; sending cards and notes to those who are ill or bereaved; checking by phone on those who are ill; visiting and/or taking flowers to those in the hospital and nursing homes; providing relief sitters; transporting to doctors, dentists and grocery store. Strict confidentiality is observed in all contacts.

 There are no regular meetings. Team members work on assignments as needed. If anyone in the parish is in need of assistance, call the church office at (706) 754-2451. For weekend lay care emergencies call Betty House at (706) 839-7912
