Join the people of Grace-Calvary Church in a celebration of its long
heritage at the Annual Fall Heritage Festival on Friday, October 15
and Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Grace-Calvary Episcopal Church in
Clarkesville, Georgia.
This spectacular two-day Festival is a wonderful family event that draws visitors from around all around North Georgia. The theme of the Festival is "1920s"
There will be games from this era for the children. Also, the Festival will include Taste Testing of Recipes, a live Auction, a Barbeque, a Chili Cookoff, a Silent Auction, Live Music, an Evening Picnic, an Antique Auto Show, and an Arts and Crafts Show.
The celebration will take place on the grounds of the oldest church building in the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta. Built by Jarvis Van Buren, a relative of U.S. President Van Buren and consecrated on Oct. 10, 1842, the church is a beautiful example of Greek Revival architecture. The building's historic features include over 42 multipaned windows that still retain most of the original hand blown glass, straight-backed box pews and a "double-decked" pulpit. Our Erben pipe organ is the oldest working church instrument in Georgia.
